Ich schätze: Eher umgekehrt. Menschen, die sich wenig mit Wissen belasten, werden die Worte "gezeugt" und "Sohn" vielleicht buchstäblich wörtlich nehmen. Der überwiegenden Rest wird dir zustimmen, dass damit eine alttestamentliche Metapher benutzt wird, die die besondere Nähe zum Gottesglauben betont.
